Project Overview

RDC Design Group partnered with CertainTeed to create a series of detailed 3D renderings and animations showcasing the installation of the CertainTeed Integrity Roof System®. The goal was to visually break down a complete roofing system and demonstrate how each component is installed layer by layer to create a finished roof.

The project required close collaboration with the CertainTeed team to understand their vision and accurately represent both the roofing products and the proper installation process. Each component needed to be modeled, positioned, and animated correctly while keeping the visuals clean and easy to understand.

Starting with the exposed roof deck, we created a staged installation sequence illustrating the major components of the Integrity Roof System, including:

• Waterproof Underlayment – Protective material installed in vulnerable areas of the roof to help defend against moisture, ice dams, and wind-driven rain.
• Water-Resistant Underlayment – A secondary protective layer covering the remaining roof deck beneath the shingles.
• Starter Shingles – Installed along the roof edges to help protect against moisture infiltration and wind uplift.
• Roofing Shingles – The primary exterior roofing material installed progressively across the roof.
• Roof Ventilation – Ridge ventilation incorporated at the roof peak to promote balanced attic airflow.
• Hip & Ridge Accessories – Finishing shingles installed along the hips and ridges to complete and protect the roofing system.

For the animation, each stage was carefully choreographed so individual components could be introduced one at a time, clearly showing where they belong and how the complete system builds upon the previous layer. We also produced high-resolution still renderings of the individual installation stages, allowing CertainTeed to use the same visual assets across multiple marketing and educational applications.

The result was a cohesive set of 3D visuals that transforms a technically complex roofing system into a clear, engaging installation sequence while maintaining the product accuracy required by CertainTeed.
